Abstract: In this paper, a scheme that adaptively estimates one of the most important channel parameters——maximum Doppler frequency fD is proposed for WCDMA systems. The scheme uses phase variations of received pilot signals, strongly related with fD in a fading environment. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme is very simple, showing good performance over wide Doppler frequency range supported by 3G standard.
