Numerical Analysis and Experimental Confirmation of Underground Temperature Field of Vertical Double Spiral Coil for Ground Source Heat Pumps

Abstract: The underground two-dimension symmetry temperature field of a vertical double spiral coil heat exchanger designed by the authors for the ground source heat pumps is calculated by using the volume-control method. The calculation results are consistent with the experimental results obtained. The mathematical model presented here may provide design guidance for the design of underground heat exchanger for ground source heat pumps.
