Abstract:

Existing algorithms for bandwidth measurement are unable to achieve balance between real time performance and reliability for satellite communication networks. To solve the problem, an intervening model is proposed to analyze the relationship between packet pair dispersion and cross traffic.Using this model, packet pair spacing with higher accuracy can be achieved. An algorithm of fast probe packet group is also developed. Results of simulation under the GEO/LEO satellite network model show that the algorithm can measure the bandwidth with high speed and low network resource cost.
