Abstract: The nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) method has an advantage over other geophysical methods in under groundwater detecting. But it is apt to be disturbed by electromagnetic in terference. This paper illustrates the under groundwater detecting effect of the NMR method with an example:searching for under-groundwater on the site of a large-scale transformer substation located in Hubei Province.

Key words: nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) method, under-groundwater detecting effect, resistivity method, water-poor area
