Abstract: Thin-wall structure workpieces are often used in aerospace industries. They are easy to deform in the process of machining and the deformation affects the dimension precision of the workpieces. This paper proposed a systematic method to ensure the dimension precision of the thin-wall workpieces in end milling. By using the mechanistic model developed by the author and the ANSYS FEM software, machining errors have been computed, and the results fit in with the actual machining process.
