THE PHOTON ABSORPTION COEFFICIENT OF (HgCd) Te DETECTORS AND ITS EFFECT ON THE FRANZ-KELDYSH SHIFT OF CUTOFF WAVELENGTH

Abstract: The width of the depletion region d and the photon absorption coefficient a of the pn+ junction (HgCd) Te detectors are calculated. The equation about the relation among a, d and the effetive Franz-Keldysh shift △λce is derived. And an interpretation of tremendous difference between △λcm and △λce presented.
