摘要: 本文用耦合波理论来研究法拉第旋转.在可变轴向磁场作用下理想单模光纤和扭转的单模光纤中引起的法拉第旋转可用一简单的积分公式来表示.此外采用Miller近似法可很方便地处理周期性可变磁场作用下光纤的法拉第旋转.

Abstract: The Faraday rotation is studied using the coupled-mode theory and a simple integral formula is derived for calculating the total Faraday rotation in a monomode optical fibre produced by an axially varying magnetic field. It is also found that Miller's method is particularly useful in calculating the Faraday rotation produced in a fibre with periodic couplings.
