摘要: 该文用渐近解析方法求解四层平面介质光波导问题,它将特征方程以一个小参量的级数展开,从而得到传播常数的一阶至三阶近似解.这一方法本身可达任意精度,然而数值结果表明:简单的二阶近似解的精度对晶体型光纤偏振器消光比的计算已经足够了.

Abstract: In this paper we present an essentially analytic method for solving four layer planar optical waveguides by using the asymptotic theory which expands the propagation constant into asymptotic series in terms of a small parameter. This method itself is exact and can approach any accuracy desired. However, tha numerical results for a crystal[fiber-optic polarizer show that the second order solution is accurate enough.
