Abstract: In this paper, the effective Hamiltonian of a strong coupled surface polarons in a polar crystals is obtained by means of a linear combination operator method and a simple unitary transformation. For the two limit cases of electrons near to and far from the crystal surface, analytical formulas of image potential and self-trapped energy are obtained.
