Abstract: The microstructure of (Hg. Od) Te crystal was studied by HREM. An electron radiation damage was found along the[110] direction of the crystal. A further study of EDAX, HREM and electron diffraction showed that the CdTe phase could be segregated from (Hg. Od) Te crystal by electron radiation, and structure disordering could occur in some areas due to the radiation. Moreover, atom displacements were occurred in the (Hg. Od) Te crystal due to the electron radiation, resulting superlattice phenomenon in the crystal.
