Abstract: This paper reports the measuring principle and results of crystallite size and lattice distortion for α-Fe2O3 with the broadening method.The measurement is made with a Y-2 X-ray diffractometer. The quartz is taken as the standard matter.Three different sizes of α-Fe2O3 are measured.Results show that the spectum lines broaden and lattice distortions increase as the crystallite size decreases.
