Abstract: The spindle monodispersed hematite particles were prepared by forced hy drolysis in boiling refluex state from Fe(NO3)3 solution for 70h. The influcence of modifers and their concentration on the size and morphology of the particles were studied.The morphology and composition were characterized by TEM and XRD. The mechanism of formation of spindle α-Fe2O3 was discussed.
