Abstract: This paper is concerned with the reliable state feedback controller design problem for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems. By using dissipative theory, a procedure of designing reliable nonlinear controller is presented in terms of the solutions of the Hamilton-Jacobi inequality. The resulting closed-loop system is reliable in the sense that the performance (i. e., internal stability and H attenuation) of the closed-loop system is guaranteed not only when all actuators are operational, but also when some actuator outages occur.

Key words: nonlinear system, H theory, reliable control, Hamilton-Jacobi ineguality
