Abstract: Fire retardance limit is used to evaluate the fire retardance properties of cellular aluminum alloy. The temperature field and fire retardance limit are solved by finite element analysis. Cellular aluminum alloy has outstanding heat resistance properties. At the temperature of 660(℃)(a few degrees above the melting point), the fire retardance limit of a 26 mm thick plate made of cellular aluminum alloy with 76% porosity, is increased to infinity, and its shape does not change. In order to allow the temperature of unexposed surface to reach the melting point, the heating temperature would have to be raised. When the cellular aluminum alloy is heated above 710(℃), volume shrinkage occurs and the ratio of volume shrinkage increases with the temperature.
