Transmission Characteristics Analysis for Trapezoidal-Ridge Metal Waveguide Using 2-D FDFD

Abstract: Transmission characteristics of trapezoidal-ridge metal waveguide are analyzed using 2-D FDFD.The general 2-D FDFD equations in the Cartesian coordinate system and difference equations for the trapezoidal bevel edge of the waveguide are presented.Transmission characteristics of single and double trapezoidal-ridge waveguides are then analyzed using these equations.Computed results are in good agreement with the previously published ones, showing validity of the method.
