Abstract: This paper introduced the mathematical model concerning gear ratios, strictly analyses the statistical characters of backlashes based on the stochastic process, theory, and then deduced the backlash calculation formulae for engineering designs and the parameters concerned:the coefficient of mean value, the coefficient of standard deviation, the coefficient of statistical value taken, and so on.
