Until recently no electrode system can generate both electrostatic focusing field and deflecting field in the same space without any interference. Yet this can be done if some proper continuously varying potentials that satisfy two individual field requirements are applied on the boundaries of a closed structure. For instance, a new electrostatic quadrupole of square cross-section can be used as a focusing lens and for

In this paper a new method for calculating the noise parameters of MESFET is presented. Using this method, noise parameters can be calculated not only from structure parameters or S parameters of MESFET separately, but also from the structurc parameters and S parameters simultaneously. This method possesses higher precision than those methods in common use. In this method noise parameters are calculated by using the rigorous network theory and lead inductances are included in the equivalent circuit of MESFET, so this method can be used up to a higher frequency range than Fukui's. Program MESNOC realizes these ideas. It is very useful for research and development of new device as only the nodes of the equivalent circuit and the values of the elements are required when unning MESNOC. The values of minimum noise figure calculated by using MESNOC agree with the values measured.

The stability of single crystal n-CdTe in aqueous solution and the photopassivation behaviour have been investigated. The changes of the surface composition and shape are examined by means of the solid surface analyses. Generally, pure PVC can not be irradiation crosslinked by electron beams or
α
-rays; crosslinking agents (or sensitizers) must be used in the irradiation crosslinking of PVC. The effect of the different sensitizers on irradiation crosslinking of PVC has been investigated. The kind of sensitizer and its content in PVC influence the thermal stability, mechanical properties and electrical properties of XLPVC. Experimental results show that TMPTMA is a better sensitizer for irradiation crosslinking of PVC. Also, the effect of different sensitizers on the relationship.between the sol fraction (S) and dose (R) is discussed. It is found that the logarithmic value of sol fraction (InS) is proportional to the sensitizer content in PVC.

The structural phase transition of the bainitic spheroidal graphite cast iron is studied by Mössbauer spectroscopy. We find that the structural phase transition occurs after the applied s rain, that the more the strain, the more the transition of ehe retained austenite, and that the amount of decrease of the retained austenite is tqual to the amount of increase of bainite, which is about 6% for the strain of 9.8%. It seems that there exist two bainitic structures for the bainitic spheroidal graphite cast iron.

The poly-crystalline silicon films deposited on an insulating substrate by LPCVD are recrystallized by CWAr

laser irradiation. According to the relations between the average crystal-grain size and the laser power, we can divide the recrystallizing process into three stages, called solid phase crystallization, liquid phase crystallization and saturated crystallization. There exists a power window restricted by the recrystallized grain size, the properties of the interface between the polysilicon and SiO

The problem of the filtering technique for three-dimensional surface topography is dealt with in this paper. The frequency characteristic of the two-dimensional digital filter which is used to filter the three-dimensional surface topographic signal is analysed and derived. The corresponding high pass and low pass digital filters are designed. Finally, a grinding surface is measured and the topographic signal is filtered respectively with high pass and low pass filters.Thus,the three-dimensional roughness and waviness are obtained.

Cryo-condensed films are thermal evaporated onto cool base plate in a small ultrahigh vacuum ampoule immersed in LHe. The tungsten filament evaporator is typically 0.2mm in diameter and the base temperature is about 10K. After the films have been made, their resistance-temperature relationship is measured in the original apparatus.
Using this method, we have fabricated clean cryo-condensed films.
