Abstract: Cryo-condensed films are thermal evaporated onto cool base plate in a small ultrahigh vacuum ampoule immersed in LHe. The tungsten filament evaporator is typically 0.2mm in diameter and the base temperature is about 10K. After the films have been made, their resistance-temperature relationship is measured in the original apparatus.
Using this method, we have fabricated clean cryo-condensed films.
