Abstract: Large size crystal CdWO4 has been successfully grown with the CZ method heated by a high-frequency inducing generator. We find that the oxygen vacancy and Fe3+ impurities are the main reasons for crystal colouration. The luminescence spectra of crystal CdWO4 have also been measured.
