Abstract: The optimal performance of a Stirling heat engine with heat resistance, heat leak and regeneration loss is studied. The fundamental optimal relation is deduced, and the influences of various irreversible factors on the performance of the heat engine are discussed. The conclusions obtained here may provide some new theoretical guides to the optimal design of Stirling heat engines.
