Abstract: By applying the basic principles of step response modeling and moment modeling, two classes of order reduction methods-the graphical method and the moment method-are obtained respectively. A detailed analysis of and comparison between the approximating abilities of the low models resulting from the two proposed order reduction methods is made by a large number of simulations.
