This paper discusses the number of sampling points necessary for representing the roundness error of a closed curve without distortion. Through mathematical deduction by the authors, the relationship between the center coordinates of a least square circle of a curve with statistical roundness error and its Fourier coefficients is obtained. Then the sampling rule which must be obeyed is acquired, and the verification results of the test problem and practical periphery are given.

A numerical Inversion method of ellipsometry has been developed for determining optical constants and thickness of the uniaxial anisotropio film, the optical axis of which is perpendicular to the film surface. The method of changing film thickness has been proposed to obtain multiple independent ellipsometrio equations for the separate calculation of optical constants and thickness of the film, and reduce the three-parameter problem to a two-parameter one. A flow chart of the numerical inverse program is given and an example applied to L-B films is illustrated.

This paper gives the expression of the vector potential produced by a dipole magnet with a symmetry plane. The second order trajectory and second order aberration are obtained by using the variation theorem. It is verified that Liouville's theorem still holds under such circumstances. The beam ellipsoid deformed by second order aberration becomes a new ellipsoid after appropriate modifications, and still works according to first order transport theory. The seuond order beam optics is therefore established.

    Abstract332)      PDF(pc) (425KB)(79)       Save
The two-dimensional numerical analysis using constant approximation, obtained by Chung and Sah, has been improved by adopting the mobility model. It is found that the slope of the oonduotanoe-gate voltage curve changes from increase to decrease with increasing gate voltage, and the narrow-gate shift of the threshold voltage is larger than that obtained from constant mobility approximation. A new model is proposed here to predict the narrow-gate shift of the threshold voltage. When the conduotanoe-gate voltage characteristics of one narrow-gate MOSPET and one wide-gate MOSFET are got from 2-D numerical analysis or experimental measurement, the threshold voltage shift of any other.narrow-gate MOSFET can then be determined subsequently. This model is checked -and agrees well with the 2-D numerical and experimental results.

In this study, the authors describe a computer-controlled scanning photoluminesoenoe (PL) system which has been designed for mapping PL intensities of semiconductor wafers or epitaxial layers up to 3 inches in diameter. Sample materials included Si, GaAs and so on. It can be used for investigation to detect defects and shallow impurities, and to show their distributions in semiconductor materials. PL is paiticularly sensitive for identifying impurities and mapping wafers to determine the distribution of defect densities over the surface of a wafer. Information from spectra and wafer maps is presented and discussed. The present scanning PL technique can be used as a simple, nondestructive, but sensitive tool in evaluating the uniformity of the near-surface layer of semioonduotor substrates and, therefore, is ideally suited for device characterization.

Titanium nitride films were prepared by simultaneous vacuum deposition of titanium and nitrogen ion beam bombardment with an ion energy of 40 KeV.RBS analysis showed that nitrogen ion bombardment could clearly reduce the oxygen concentration in the film. At the same atomio arrival ratio, the component ratio (N/Ti) in the films decreased with the increase of titanium deposition rate or sample temperature. This fact was considered to have arisen from the situation that the film composition was strongly affected by the adsorption of nitrogen. The films wore mainly TiN polyorystale. The preferred crystalline orientation of the film changed from <111> to <200> with the increase of the atomic arrival ratio (N/Ti). The titanium nitride films formed by dynamic ion beam mixing exhibited good and tear resistance and strong adhesion to the substrate.

As an asymptotic solution of the wave equation at high, frequency, the complex ray field in lossy media is discussed in detail, and oompai'ed with the case of lossless ones. From these discussions, it is found that the Gaussian beam can also be effectively expressed by the complex ray field in lossy media, and the complex ray approaches developed in the lossless case can also be used in the lossy case. As an example, we give the ROS results obtained by both theoretical and experimental methods for a conducting flat plate with one surface coated with radar absorbing materials. Their good agreement shows the extension of complex rays from lossless media to lossy ones is reasonable.

In this paper, a universal variational equation for solving electromagnetic boundary problems is deduced from Maxwell's equations. It has the advantage that the trial functions are not restricted by the boundary condition. So it is especially useful in solving problems of anisotropio medium of irregular geometry. The resonant characteristics of plasma-filled cavities are analysed by using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. The numerical results in the case of rectangular cavity are in agreement with those from reference[3]. Besides, the resonant frequencies and Q values of quasi-TEm and quasi-TM011 modes are calculated as the functions of plasma parameters, which are of value in the industrial applications of plasmas.

The methods of surface detection of His bundle activity can be generally divided into two kinds. One method uses the technique of serial signal averaging which requires digital averaging of 50-100 sequential cardiac cycles. But it can not record the His bundle signal on a beat-by-beat basis and so it is not effective in clinical applications in that some diseases such as arrhythmia, AV block and less-then-oonstant RR intervals ooour intermittently instead of in every cardiac cycle. The other method can avoid the disad ventages of serial signal averaging by using multiple parallel inputs with amplifications.
The real-time detection of the His bundle activity on a beat-by-beat basis can be achieved. Because of this advantage, the latter method deserves much attention. This paper describes the study of the His bundle activity detection based on the parallel averaging technique in the institute of BME of SUST, and its evaluation for clinical applications.

EFFECTS OF INTERP ARTICLE INTERFERENCE IN SMALL-ANGLE X-RAY SCATTERING
    GUO OHANGLIN
    Journal of Applied Sciences    1992, 10 (2): 128-136.
    Abstract383)      PDF(pc) (590KB)(61)       Save
According to the small-angle X-ray scattering theory, it is always assumed that the scattering intensities of particles are simply added up to give the total diffraction pattern. This is true only for a very dilute particle system. However, with increasing concentration, some effects of interpartiole interference should be expected. Several models and theories of interpartiole interference have been presented but no rigorous solution can be given so far. In the practical case, the magnitude of the concentration effects can be seen by plotting the scattering curves of the various concentrated particle systems, normalized to unit concentration. Sometimes it is impossible to measure a series of concentrations in the applications of materials science, such as determining the size distribution of a mioro-inhomogeneous region, global droplets of spinodal decomposition, precipitation of the second phase, condensation of vacancies and defects in bulk materials. Therefore, it is of importance to find an empii-ical equation of the interference function. The intensities of ultrafine MoSs samples in several concentrations at different angles are determined in detail. The empirical equation of the interference Junction is deduced as:K-1=[1+2.5ω1.4+2θ° (15.4ω0.5-23.6ω2-1.3ω0.01)]-1.

Two models of liquid-semiconductor contact energy band and transport of interface changes are set up. The concept of reaction implantation is put forward. Meanwhile, it is considered that the etching rate usually depends on the filling conditions of the interface state. The relations of experimental etching rate and bias-voltage are explained correctly. Finally, after considering the recombination of disequilibrium carriers, the etching rate carrier concentration formula is found to be in good agreement with experimental data.

In this paper, an equation of isothermal charge is derived for the direct determination of trap distribution in solid dielectrics according to the model of first-order trapping. Based on the configuration of distribution of space charges in solid dielectrics formed by the field emission, a method is suggested for distinguishing the electron from hole traps in the dielectric by using the surface potential technique. Therefore, the information of a single carrier trap is acquired. The parameters of traps in the dielectric PP is obtained by integrating theory with experiment. The theory and the testing method are of importance for studying the traps in solid dielectrics.

The preparation of p-n junctions of large area (maximum area φ20 mm) by irradiat ion doping Al and Sb in N and P type crystals Si respectively using high-energy pulse infra-red laser (wavelength=10.6 μm) is carried out. It is found that there is a threshold energy density in laser doping, and distributions of dopant density an d depth have relation to preheat temperature and plating layer thickness of the impurities. Volt-ampere characteristics, thin-layer resistance and photvoltage of the p-n junction are measured.

The phase configuration of M2 high speed steel was studied by the Mossbauer effect in backscattering X-ray geometry. It was shown that the effect of substitutive alloy atoms in the near shell in the high speed steel on the effective ferromagnetic field can approximately be considered to be identical. So there are only four kinds of iron surroundirgs in mertensjte based on the alcove results, i.e., there are four kinds of iron surroungings corresponding to 0,1,2 and 3 substitutive alloy atoms in the nearest two shells respectively. The carbon atom in the retained austenite of M2 high speed steel is located at,the octahedral site and w ill segregate to the retained austenite phase during high temperature quenching.

A strict equation of eccentric circle is offered in this thesis. Using this equation we get the expression of the coordinates of the least square circle center which is similar to the conventional formula, and the expression of the least square circle radius which is more precise than the conventional formula. Furthermore a formula of the value of roundness is offered in the sense of least square statistics and it is verified that it has nothing to do with the D. 0 component and the primary harmonic wave of the curve.

This paper introduces an expert system in the real-time control for the after-blow operation in converter steelmaking with oxygen. Special attention is paid to the research on the representation structure of the knowl edge-base and the relative inference algorithm.
A two-time mapping model for the solution is formed. An improved opportunity inference approach in the problem is employed, instructed by the means-end analysis with heuristic information and metarules. In this way, the production system has parallel processing performance, and the expert system has a high adaptability.

In this paper, an analysis of the interaction of steady longitudinal waves with an annular part through a oraok located in an infinitely long hollow cylinder has been investigated. Using the integral transform technique, the problem is reduced to a second kind of Fredholm integral equation, which is then solved numerically. And finally, the feature of displacements at the far-field has been discussed in detail.
